Brrrr...It's Cold!

We awoke to a chilly -45 degrees Celsius.  (That's -49 Fahrenheit for you Americans!)  All the school buses in our district were cancelled, so the kids got an extra day off.

Sooo....the question is...what do you do on such a miserably cold day?

Well, that's not a problem for my kids!  The options are endless....

You become a mad scientist and mix unusual concoctions.  In this case it was:

salt
pepper
vinegar
dill pickle spice
syrup
oil
flour
water
food coloring

Mix

...microwave the above for about 40 seconds...

...top with ketchup...

...and enjoy!....

Oh! And be sure to have the hair of a "mad scientist!"

 ...Or you can be crafty...

...,read a book in the fort you made with your sisters...

...while your mom makes a huge pot of yummy Summa Borscht!

Sounds like a good day...except you're missing the hot chocolate to keep you warm ;)

we are suppose to get the cold here tomorrow...of course not anywhere near your temps...I think around 20 degrees but not sure what its like with the windchill.

Maybe that is one of the perks of living in the country... snow days... in the city, it doesn't seem to matter how cold it is, there are never snow days!

We did have a PD Day though and it was nice to have the extra day off (it was cold here too) and not have to go anywhere!

Paige, even out in the country most peole still bring their kids to school regardless of the temperature or even in a blizzard. I refuse to pack up all my kids and take a chance or put my vehicle under unnecessary stress. I'd rather enjoy the day and my kids. I suppose if I was heading out to go to work, etc I would drop them off...
